CALLERLAB and the CALLERLAB Foundation administer scholarship funds to support education of callers, dancers, and organizations. Applications for these scholarships must be submitted to CALLERLAB/CALLERLAB Foundation office no later than May 1st in the year to scholarship is to be approved. Applications will be considered during the Spring meeting of the Executive boards.
The following scholarships are currently available to callers:
David Kredit Scholarship Fund
In accordance with the heart of David Krediet and the wishes of his family, proceeds from this scholarship fund will be used exclusively for disbursement to callers on a scholarship award basis.
Grants shall be awarded based on the following priorities: need, existing skills, training, intentions, and educational aspects of the event/school.
Scholarships shall be awarded based on the following priorities: Calling experience, previous training, need, and intentions. This fund shall be administered by the CALLERLAB Foundation Executive Directors (FED).
In David's short calling career, he came to recognize the need that he and other new callers have to gain the experience of structured caller training through attendance at a caller school. Therefore, priority in award selection shall be given to newer callers who have not yet attended a caller school, or who have been calling less than five years at the time of application. However, this is not meant to limit applicants only to those who have been calling less than five years. Any caller, or aspiring caller can apply. In the event that no newer callers have applied, an experienced caller can receive an award after consideration of all other factors listed above.
Bill Helms Memorial Scholarship Fund
In compliance with the wishes and objectives of Bill Helms, proceeds from this scholarship fund will be used exclusively for disbursement to callers on a scholarship award basis.
Scholarships shall be awarded based on the following priorities: Calling experience, previous training, need, and intentions.

Grand Square Incorporated (GSI) Education Fund
In compliance with the wishes and objectives of Grand Square Inc (GSI), proceeds from the Fund are intended for use by: 1) A deserving dancer who has indicated a desire to learn how to better serve square dancing, 2) A deserving caller who has a background of calling or dancing; and who has indicated a desire to learn to call or a desire to improve their calling, OR 3) A square dance organization which has indicated a desire to sponsor a seminar or clinic to provide training to dancers or callers to help them better serve square dancing.
