Home Office Staff 2013 Chairman’s Award

CHAIRMAN’S AWARD

Presented by Elmer Sheffield

This is my second year as the Chairman of CALLERLAB. Last year I did not present a Chairman’s Award, so this year I choose to present two. Both of these individuals have not only been of great assistance to me, but to CALLERLAB.

The first is a person who has not been calling very long and has only been a Member for about five years. During this time, he has made a great impact on CALLERLAB. A self-described “computer geek”, he has rebuilt and enhanced each of the computers in the Home Office with minimal costs to CALLERLAB. He answers the phones, processes the mail, and provides assistance to the Executive Director. His enthusiasm has helped recruit and maintain Members. He continues to stand ready to assist anyone who needs help, including your truly. I would like to present the Chairman’s Award to Wade Morrow of the Home Office Staff.

My second Chairman’s Award will be presented to a person who is not a caller, but who again has provided a special expertise to CALLERLAB. She has only been a part of CALLERLAB during the past five years; however, she has been very noticeable in her presence. This person has the ability to take one of my articles, written in country boy verbiage, and make it sound “pretty”. From DIRECTION, CALLERLAB documents, publications and our VIEWPOINT in the American Square Dance Magazine, she provides editorial magic. Even this speech would have been a lot more polished had she had the opportunity to work her magic. Her expertise has also arranged for the meals you have received during this Convention. I’m very happy to present the Chairman’s Award to Royce Dent of the Home Office Staff.
